Achieve Success on Your First Trade Show Booth With These Tips

Organizing a trade show booth can be a daunting task especially if you are a first time exhibitor. It requires a major investment of time and money. The return of investment can be huge if you can become successful with your trade show booth. Here are some tips on becoming successful as a first time trade show exhibitor:

1. Be creative
Bear in mind that there will be over a hundred other booths and companies you will compete with. Think of a contest or gimmick that you can create in your booth. They will be curious with your contest and may drop by your booth and take part in your contest.[1]

2. Start out small
For your first trade show, start with a small booth. As a first timer, you can use the event as a platform for learning effective strategies for your products. At the same time, you will learn from other booth displays and come up with something new for your booth come next event. So it is best to start small and learn on your first trade show.[2]

3. Research about your booth space
Before proceeding with setting up your booth display, learn as much as you can about your allocated space. Do an ocular and see what you can do with it. For instance, how is the traffic in the area? Will there be less or more visitors who will drop by in your booth? Do you have access to lighting and electricity? Who will be your neighboring exhibitors? These are important factors that will affect the set-up of your booth display.[2]

4. Go for rental booth displays
Recent studies have shown that most first time booth exhibitors do not do a second trade show. If you plan to organize exhibits once or twice a year, it would be best to consider renting booth components instead of purchasing one. At the same time, it will save you the hassle of transportation and storage.[2]

5. Create a professional image
“First impressions last,” as they say so make your booth as professional looking as possible. Choose your booth colors well. Limit it to three colors. Make sure that your exhibit components include your corporate colors.[2]

6. Leverage with social media
Harness the power of social media to promote your upcoming event. You can create a hashtag for your event so followers can visit your booth. Do engage with your followers and make your posts personal.[1]

Trade shows provide a huge opportunity for gaining new customers. However, it can be daunting for a first timer exhibitor. Hopefully, these tips will help you become successful as a first time exhibitor.
